Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-term trainer Cervara.
Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents the player's initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface after March of the previous year.
Success also signifies he has won 21 titles at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.
The player's defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
Moutet defended four initial chances in a close third set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, he secured the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
